At Action on Disability (AoD), we’re passionate about supporting young disabled people to achieve their full potential. Our Youth Services are designed to provide a supportive, inclusive, and dynamic environment where young people aged 11-25 can learn, socialize, and develop.

Our Vision

We believe every young person has the right to access opportunities that enable them to thrive, regardless of disability. Our services aim to break down barriers, foster independence, and build confidence, empowering young individuals to navigate their futures with confidence.

Our opportunities

Youth Club

We provide a fun and safe environment for young people to make friends, learn new skills and become more independent.

When: Thursdays (term-time) from 5.30pm – 8.30pm

Where: Masbro Youth Club

Milson Road entrance, W14 0LR

Who: Young disabled people aged 14-25 years

Cost: Free for anyone who lives or accesses education within London Borough Hammersmith and Fulham. Fees apply to out of borough access.

Junior Club

We offer a safe space for young people to make friends and participate in a range of activities.

When: Fridays (term-time) from 4.00pm-7.00pm

Where: Normand Croft Community School, Lillie Road, London, SW6 7SR

Who: Young disabled people aged 11-16

Cost: Free for anyone who lives or accesses education within London Borough Hammersmith and Fulham. Fees apply to out of borough access.

Move it Mondays

Produced in partnership with Dance West, the classes are fun, dynamic and accessible. There are two sessions every Monday.

16.30-17.15 (Children 7-15 years)

17.15-18.00 (Young People 16-26 years)

Holiday Youth Programme

We offer a range of exciting activities during the school holidays.

When: February half term, Easter holiday, Summer holiday & October half term

Who: Young disabled people aged 11-25

Cost: Free for anyone who lives or accesses education with London Borough Hammersmith and Fulham. Fees apply to out of borough access.

Acting up

Acting up is a performing arts programme open to young people aged 16-25years old from West London. In the sessions, young people explore and learn different types of acting techniques, performing skills and play drama games. 

Time: 4.00pm – 6.00pm

When: Fridays – January 20th 2023 – March 31st 2023 (excluding February 17th 2023)

Duke of Edinburgh Awards

We deliver the Duke of Edinburgh Awards (DofE) to all young people aged 14 – 25 years. We are one of the few directly licensed centres in West London that gives young disabled people the opportunity to gain accreditation and skills.

Services Offered

Social and Recreational Activities

Engaging activities that offer fun and social interaction, including clubs, outings, and holiday programs. A safe and supportive space to meet new friends and develop social skills.

Skills Development

Workshops and courses designed to develop life skills, from communication and teamwork to leadership and self-advocacy. Opportunities to explore creativity through arts, music, and technology.

Supported Transition to Adulthood

Tailored support for the transition from youth services to adult life, focusing on education, employment, and independence. Information, advice, and guidance on further education, training, and employment opportunities.

Health and Wellbeing

Programs and activities aimed at promoting physical health and mental wellbeing. Access to information and support on health-related issues.

Participation and Voice

Empowering young people to have a say in the services they receive and issues that affect their lives. Opportunities to participate in youth forums, advocacy groups, and decision-making processes.

Theory of Change

AoD’s youth service has created a theory of change to highlight the impact of the work that we deliver with young disabled people, and be able to clearly define what we do, how we do it, and how it can be measured. Read the document here!
